For the third consecutive year, the group of teachers Arte en Red promotes artistic education in Asturias with the organization of the III Exhibition of Contemporary School Art (MACEAS). Under the title ‘Llende allá’, the exhibition brings together the creations of students from 14 educational centers, focused on reflecting on «limits and borders,» both visible and invisible.

As Arte en Red explains in a press release, the exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Youth Area of the City Council of Langreo, can be visited from April 28 to May 16 at El Tallerón of IES Cuenca del Nalón, in La Felguera. Each center presents a different work, in formats such as videos, installations, painting, embroidery, textiles, sculpture, or performance.

The opening will take place on Monday, April 28 at 10:30 am by the writer and journalist Leticia Baselgas, the godmother of this edition, who will offer a talk on the construction of personal and collective narratives.

Afterwards, the dance company Proyecto Piloto will perform a fragment of their work BAUH, inspired by Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet. At 11:30 am, the exhibition will officially open, in an event that will be attended by institutional representatives, such as the Minister of Culture, Linguistic Policy, and Sports, Vanesa Gutiérrez, and other figures from the cultural and educational fields.

The exhibition is held at El Tallerón, a space in the institute that once housed welding and machining workshops «but is now disused.» This industrial place, as reported by Arte en Red, «is ideal for engaging with the artistic proposals of the students.»
