On April 23, International Book Day is commemorated worldwide, and the Municipal Library Network of Avilés celebrates it once again by organizing its Micro-Story Contest, now in its fifth edition, in the usual four categories: from
The literary works submitted must be original and unpublished, not having been previously awarded. They can be written in both Spanish and Asturian, with two unique requirements: they must include the word «book» and have a maximum length of 200 words, including the title.
For writing, a word processor compatible with Microsoft Word must be used, in Times New Roman font, size 12, and single line spacing.
The jury’s decision will be announced on April 23, and four prizes will be awarded, one for each category, consisting of book bundles.
Entries must be submitted via email to mtpasarin@aviles.es. The subject line should read: V MICRO-STORY CONTEST BOOK DAY. Two attachments must be included: one containing the micro-story and pseudonym; and another with the author’s personal information, micro-story title, pseudonym, first and last name, age, category entered, address, phone number, and email.
The rules state that the authors of the winning and finalist works grant the organization the rights of reproduction and public communication of the works, which may be used as deemed appropriate, including publication, always acknowledging the authorship. No compensation will be provided to the author for this assignment.
