The Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary has unanimously agreed on Tuesday the appointment of Jesús María Chamorro González as the president of the High Court of Justice of Asturias (TSJA); Celso Rodríguez Padrón as the president of the High Court of Justice of Madrid, and Manuel Luna Carbonell as the president of the High Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia.
For Chamorro González and Rodríguez Padrón, this will be their second term leading these judicial bodies. In their session on Tuesday, the governing body of judges has made another 18 appointments, all of them unanimously and corresponding to twelve presidencies of Administrative and Social Contentious Courts of various High Courts of Justice, the presidencies of the Provincial Courts of Zamora and Huelva, and four positions in the military jurisdiction.
With the appointments made on Tuesday, the CGPJ has carried out a total of 102 appointments – both in the ordinary jurisdiction and in the military jurisdiction – since the beginning of its mandate on July 25. Furthermore, the items related to the provision of the presidencies of the Second and Third Chambers of the Supreme Court have been withdrawn from the agenda for inclusion in an upcoming Plenary.
