Interior detects 100,899 active cases of victims of gender-based violence in VioGén, 52,792 of them with minors under their care
The Ministry of Interior has identified 17,006 victims of gender-based violence in the VioGén System until February 2025 in Asturias, with 2,125 active cases, according to statistical data from the department led by Fernando Grande-Marlaska collected by Europa Press.
In Asturias, among the active cases, 948 are classified as ‘not appreciated’ risk level, 851 as ‘low’ risk, 305 as ‘medium’ risk, and 20 as ‘high’ risk. Additionally, one case is categorized as ‘extreme risk’.
Among the active cases, 265 involve minors in vulnerable situations, 32 with minors at risk, and 257 are cases of «special relevance».
In addition to the active cases, there are 116 cases under supervision and 17,578 inactive cases in Asturias. In total, as of February 28, there are 19,819 cases in Asturias.

As of February 28, there are 100,899 active cases of victims of gender-based violence in Spain, with 52,792 cases involving minors under their care. Among them, 10 are at extreme risk, 895 at high risk, 13,071 at medium risk, 43,159 at low risk, and 43,764 where no risk is appreciated.
Interior’s data also reveals that there are 52,792 cases of victims of gender-based violence with minors under their care, almost 10,000 more than those registered in the VioGén System in February 2024. A total of 1,437 of these cases are at risk of being abused by the perpetrator of their mother. Currently, there are five cases of this type at extreme risk, 114 at high risk, and 1,318 at medium risk. Similarly, the statistics show 12,596 cases with minors in vulnerable situations.
Furthermore, 11,019 cases are of «special relevance», with ten of them at extreme risk, 840 at high risk, and 10,169 at medium risk. In the latter, «a special combination of indicators is detected that significantly increases the probability of the aggressor exerting very serious or lethal violence on the victim.»
By regions, the highest number of active cases of gender-based violence is in Andalusia, with 26,407; followed by the Valencian Community, with 16,802; the Community of Madrid, with 12,710; the Canary Islands, with 6,630; Galicia, with 5,803; Castilla-La Mancha, with 5,498; Murcia, with 5,493; Castile and Leon, with 5,135; the Balearic Islands, with 4,155; Extremadura, with 2,698; Aragon, with 2,533; Asturias, with 2,125; Navarra, with 1,986; Cantabria, with 1,496; La Rioja, with 927; Ceuta, with 264; and Melilla, with 237.
