The Ministry of Culture, Linguistic Policy, and Sports of the Asturian Government reported on Thursday that they are working to ensure that the Valgrande-Pajares Winter and Mountain Resort can resume its normal operation «as soon as possible.» The facilities have been closed since Wednesday, as the only authorized personnel to open the complex are on sick leave.
According to the Asturian Government, the temporary closure of the resort is due to unforeseen circumstances. Since the Operations Manager has been on sick leave, the ministry has been working to fill his position with another person. Now, the Director of the resort is also on sick leave, adding to the issue.
The simultaneous absence of both individuals – the only ones authorized by Transport to open the resort – prevents the facilities from opening until at least one substitute is found, as explained by the Government. The Ministry is working towards resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Once this problem is solved, the resort will resume its activities «with all safety guarantees.»
