El Elche CF won this Saturday by 0-1 in their visit to Cádiz CF and has established themselves as the leader of LaLiga Hypermotion, during matchday 35 where Real Oviedo tightened the top zone with a 3-0 victory against Racing de Ferrol, who are still in the relegation zone, and without taking advantage of the respective draws of Real Zaragoza and CD Tenerife.
This Saturday’s round started at La Romareda, where the home team narrowly escaped. Jon Bautista’s brace in the first half complicated things for Zaragoza, who narrowed the gap in the 72nd minute through Jair Amador, and sealed the 2-2 draw in stoppage time with a header from their goalkeeper Gaëtan Poussin from a corner kick.
This unusual goal left the Zaragoza team provisionally in eighteenth place with 41 points, two more than Eldense and nine more than a Tenerife team showing clear improvement. A draw and three defeats summarize Cádiz’s performance in the last month of competition, falling victim this Saturday to Elche, who secured a victory at Nuevo Mirandilla with a superb goal to the top corner.
In the 66th minute, Germán Valera delivered the ball to the edge of the local area, and Álvaro Núñez struck a beautiful volley with his right foot that cleanly entered David Gil’s goal. With 66 points, Elche now sits atop the standings alone, after Levante (63 pts.) drew on Friday in their visit to Córdoba.
