The Culture Department of the Langreo City Council has reported on the first quarter of 2025, which reflects that more than 12,500 people attended the various events organized in the cultural spaces of the municipality.
The cinema for all audiences El Cine Felgueroso in Sama welcomed 1,586 people in the first three months of the year. One of the highlights was the ‘Sala Oscura’ cycle, which brought together 1,021 spectators with a careful selection of cult cinema. ‘Blade Runner’ was the most viewed film of the cycle, followed by ‘Fahrenheit 451’.
Family cinema also had its space with the ‘RapaCines’ cycle, which attracted 298 spectators in its four sessions, establishing itself as an appointment to enjoy the seventh art with family. In addition, the Mobile Cinema visited Langreo with the screening of ‘La Retaguardia’, which was attended by 61 people.
The New Theater of La Felguera once again became the epicenter of cultural activity in Langreo, with a total of 10,911 attendees spread across the months of January (2,439), February (4,805), and March (3,670). Thus, one of the great highlights of the season was the cycle of Asturian traditional theater, which once again received an excellent reception: 8,780 people filled the seats to enjoy the performances.
The theater programming also experienced several «full houses» with standout shows such as the play ‘Poncia’, starring Lolita Flores; the humor of Joaquín Pajarón with ‘Radio Pajaronia’, and the concert by Cantabrian artist Nando Agüeros, as reported by the Langreo City Council.
Completing the cultural agenda for the quarter were the independent film cycle ‘Musoc’, which brought together 317 people, and ‘Thursday Cinema’, which added 1,914 viewers. The commitment to the children and youth audience was also maintained through school activities, which saw the participation of 1,664 children.
