Aguas de Avilés will organize talks, exhibitions, guided tours of the La Lleda Treatment Plant, water tastings, and children’s games from Monday 17 to Friday 21.
From this Monday, the 17th, until Friday the 21st, Avilés celebrates the Water Week with activities for all audiences, all organized by Aguas de Avilés. They will allow the population to learn about the functioning of the water management system in the city, which is undergoing a deep modernization process through the PERTE of digitization.

On Tuesday 18, at the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (ETAP) of La Lleda, the activity «Come and learn about the water cycle in Avilés!» will take place, with guided tours of the Plant, starting at 10.00, 12.00, and 17.00 hours, and reservations are essential, as groups are limited.
On Thursday 20, the Plaza de España will become the epicenter of water in Avilés. At 12.00 hours, with free access, there will be a water tasting in the activity «A glass of tap water, please.» An organoleptic analysis of different waters will be carried out, and the reasons for choosing tap water will be explained.
Finally, on Friday the 21st, the «Day of the PERTE of Avilés» will be celebrated, with children as the protagonists. In the Plaza Domingo Álvarez Acebal, with the collaboration of the Water Consortium of Asturias (Cadasa), the projects being carried out in Avilés within the PERTE of the D’AUA group will be explained to the public.
And in the afternoon, at 17.00 hours, a gymkhana will be held for the general public, especially for girls and boys, who will have to visit four points in the city center, collecting four pieces with which a gift will be given.
The first piece will be found at the Aguas de Avilés headquarters. The second one, at the Fuente de Rivero, where a laundry and washing of period clothing will be recreated by the Pedro Menéndez Neighborhood Association. The third one, in a pond in Ferrera Park where pirates and mermaids will appear. And the last piece, and the gift, at the booth that Cadasa will place in the Plaza de Álvarez Acebal.
