Firefighters from the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) have extinguished a fire that broke out in a warehouse located in the Tabaza II Industrial Estate in Carreño. The fire affected three trucks parked inside the warehouse, with two of them being damaged and one completely burnt.
The Emergency Coordination Center received the alert at 2:12 PM, as reported by SEPA in a press release. The caller reported seeing thick black smoke coming out of the roof of the warehouse.
The Chief of the West Central Zone of the SEPA Firefighters, along with personnel from the Avilés, La Morgal, and San Martín del Rey Aurelio fire stations, were immediately mobilized, although the latter did not need to intervene.
Upon arrival, the 12 firefighters on the scene tackled the fire and contained it by 3:12 PM. Subsequently, they conducted cooling and ventilation operations.
It is planned for firefighters to inspect the trucks and their cargo inside the warehouse on both Saturday and Sunday, until they can be removed.
