A 67-year-old man was injured in a traffic accident involving two vehicles on the AS-374 in Castiello, Llanera. The victim was transferred with a reserved prognosis to the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), according to information provided by the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU).
The Emergency Services of the Principality (SEPA) reported that he was treated at the scene of the accident by the Primary Care team of Llanera and evacuated in the basic life support ambulance from the area.
The man was extricated from the inside of the car by firefighters from the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) based at the La Morgal station. The firefighters removed him, immobilized, in a rigid block, from the rear of the vehicle with the help of a rescue board.
The Emergency Coordination Center of 112 Asturias received the call at 18:59 hours. The caller reported that two vehicles had collided on the mentioned road and that there was a person inside one of them.
In addition to informing SAMU, the 112 SEPA room activated the firefighters and notified the Traffic Civil Guard. At 19:10 hours, the team confirmed that there was a person inside one of the cars and they were going to proceed with the extrication. Once the rescue was completed and safety and road normalization tasks were carried out, they left the scene to return to the station, arriving at 20:06 hours.
