TIENDAVILÉS is boosting local commerce by activating nearly 200 establishments on its marketplace.
On April 10, 2025, the web will be integrated with a smart locker system that allows for product pick-up at any time at Plaza Hermanos Orbón and El Atrio parking lot.
The Avilés City Council has launched an accessible, modern, and sustainable e-commerce platform called TIENDAVILÉS, bringing together 190 local businesses, hospitality, tourism, and proximity product establishments. The platform was presented by the Councilor for Commerce, Raquel Ruiz, in an event attended by representatives of the company behind the portal, integrated establishments, Mae Albés from CBT Comunicación Multimedia, who will handle advertising campaigns, and Gonzalo Cobo from ASAP, the company responsible for digitalization and providing training to integrated merchants to navigate the website.
Through the website tiendaviles.com, users can make purchases from multiple stores simultaneously and receive all their products the next day in a single delivery. They also have a 14-day return policy.
As part of the local commerce revitalization strategy, this marketplace aims to connect local businesses with the Avilés community through an accessible and innovative digital platform. Its main goal is to strengthen local commerce, contribute to the local economy, and offer consumers a modern, sustainable, and secure alternative for their purchases.
The platform targets local, national, and international customers, with a focus on young and middle-aged individuals who see online shopping as a convenient, accessible, and tailored option to their consumption habits.
The website will also offer home delivery for products sold through it.
Digital and Commercial Dynamization
ASAP Global Solution has been tasked with digitizing and modernizing local commerce by integrating it into the online sales platform, improving its competitiveness, and facilitating its entry into the digital economy through advanced marketing tools.
Given the high demand from local businesses, there are currently 190 establishments activated on the platform. The technical support service has been expanded to ensure their proper integration. Additionally, training in online sales strategies has been reinforced to aid in their adaptation to the digital environment.
Advertising
The advertising campaign, developed by CBT Comunicación Multimedia, aims to promote and increase the visibility of TIENDAVILÉS. The goal is to reach approximately 8,000 active customers on the platform within six months.
It aims to position the marketplace as a valuable platform for small businesses, hospitality, and local companies, facilitating their digitalization and access to a broader market. From the consumer perspective, it seeks to encourage the use of TIENDAVILÉS as a modern, accessible, and convenient alternative for purchasing local products.
This initiative is co-financed with funds from the "Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan – funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU within the framework of the grants aimed at strengthening commercial activity in tourist areas.
Integration with the ‘Click and Collect’ system of smart lockers
The Avilés City Council has implemented a set of Click and Collect smart lockers (some refrigerated and others not) with the corresponding management software, allowing customers to pick up their orders from local businesses at a convenient time, even outside of business hours. The modules are located at Plaza Hermanos Orbón and El Atrio Shopping Center parking lot.
Through the tiendaviles website, merchants can leave their products in these lockers for customers to pick up, whether the product was sold through the platform or not. This flexibility allows for fresh products purchased to be consigned in the lockers upon customer request.
It is worth noting that the Click and Collect system not only allows integration with this Marketplace but also with other applications of the Avilés City Council and other e-commerce websites of the client.
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism has granted the Avilés City Council a €1,543,021 aid for improving the competitiveness of the commercial sector, through a project that includes 18 initiatives to boost commerce and tourism in the city, with a budget of €1,928,777. These initiatives include the provision of reverse vending machines, applications for improving food safety, refrigerated Click & Collect lockers, this multi-platform for online sales with the corresponding application, the implementation of energy audits in hospitality establishments and hotels that focus on sustainability and hold distinctive seals or certifications.
