The XIX edition of the Avilés Amateur Theater Show features 12 proposals

With a loyal audience, the Avilés Amateur Theater Show returns for another season to its traditional venue at the Auditorium of the Cultural Center of Los Canapés. In its XIX edition, it will offer eleven stage proposals for all audiences, in addition to the usual closing gala. The performances will be spread out between the months of May and June, and after the summer break, they will continue in October and November.

A classic in the cultural programming of the city, organized by the Avilés Culture Department, through the Municipal Culture Foundation and in collaboration with FETEAS (Federation of Amateur Theater Groups of the Principality of Asturias). Admission is free until full capacity is reached, and all performances will take place at 7:00 pm.

Once again, the local company Santa Bárbara de Llaranes will raise the curtain with a comedy written by its director, Carmen Campo: "Esperote en el puertu", a fun story that narrates the adventures of a very special family. The cast includes Luis Barrera, Bruno Pérez, Sara Palacio, and Diana Suárez, and it can be enjoyed on Monday, May 5.

Following this performance, the usual companies in the Asturian amateur scene, present every year in Avilés, will bring high doses of humor, without forgetting the classics or social criticism.

Between the months of May and June, the cycle will feature Teatro Kumen with "Tartufo Play"; followed by Teatro Carbayin with "Por un puñado de Castañes"; San Félix de Valdesoto with "La fonda"; Eca Teatro with "Redescubriendo a Fuenteovejuna"; and Teatro Rosario Trabanco with "Hay xente pa to".
