Saavedra will study with the City Council the immediate construction of a provisional parking lot
The Minister of Health of the Principality of Asturias, Concepción Saavedra, stated this Thursday in Gijón that this week the first assignment to Tragsa will be signed for the drafting of the new contract for the extension of the Cabueñes hospital.
In this regard, she pointed out that it is necessary to first conduct a preliminary study to see how the topography is, how the excavations have turned out, and from there, proceed with the project. She also mentioned that probably in two months they can already start with the project assignment, around May or June.
Saavedra, in statements to the media during her visit to the Urology Service of the Cabueñes hospital, noted that, in parallel, the Ministry is preparing to immediately make the second assignment, and even work with them beforehand before this in relation to what the project would be.
Asked about the expansion of the hospital’s parking lot, she emphasized that they are drafting the specifications, but on the other hand, they will begin to hold periodic meetings with the Gijón City Council to see the available land in the area and create a more «immediate» provisional parking lot that would improve the current situation.
Regarding whether the new permanent parking lot will continue to be free like the current one or paid like at the HUCA in Oviedo, she insisted that they are currently working on the specifications and added that it depends a bit on how the tool would be to carry out the bidding. In this regard, she noted that it could be a concession or it could be completely public.
