After the granting of third degree to unionists known as ‘Las 6 de La Suiza’, their social support group, ‘Sofitu a Les 6 de La Suiza’, calls for a popular concentration this Saturday to continue demanding the full freedom of these convicted unionists.
«The third degree they were given is still part of the prison regime. And Las 6 de La Suiza should have the same freedom as all of us,» they indicate in the call for the concentration.
The meeting will be at 12:00 noon in Plaza del Marques de Gijón. The National Confederation of Labor (CNT) announced this Friday that ‘Las seis de La Suiza’ have been classified in third penitentiary degree under the application of article 72 of the LOGP and 102.4 of the RP, thus they will serve their sentence in open regime.
In a statement, CNT ensures that they will continue, as they have done «from the first day,» demanding the freedom of «the comrades convicted for union activities.»
The five women and the man convicted for the protests and mobilizations in front of the ‘La Suiza’ bakery in Gijón, entered the Asturias Prison on July 10th.
Since the judicial decision sending them to prison was known, political parties, unions, and the Asturian government have shown support for the pardon request. Even the Vice President of the Government of Spain, Yolanda Díaz, expressed support for this option.
