Medio Rural otorga 1,8 millones en ayudas por medidas contra fauna silvestre.

The Department of Rural Affairs and Agricultural Policy has approved grants totaling 1.8 million for protection against attacks from wild animals. In total, 86 farmers and livestock breeders have benefited from these direct subsidies, which cover, in most cases, 100% of the investment, with a minimum amount of 3,000 euros and a maximum of 40,000 per farm.

The deadline for justifying this assistance has been extended until October 30, and the department has created a complementary waiting list with another fifty files, as indicated by the Principality in a press release.

Among the subsidized actions are the construction or repair of fences for livestock defense and crop protection, the creation of sheepfolds and bee fences in bear areas, the installation of mobile fences and electric shepherds, and the acquisition of guard mastiff dogs for livestock defense.

Those applicants who intend to implement measures to reconcile their farm activities with the presence of bears and wolves and are located in protected areas of the Regional Network and the Natura 2000 Network receive a higher score in the process.
