The Avilés City Council will launch an initiative to facilitate access to housing for people with psychosocial disabilities, so that this step towards personal autonomy can help develop or regain skills that allow them to live independently and integrated into the community.
Through the Prometeo program, the Housing Department opens a specific pathway for this group within the Avilés Alquila program. This allows individuals who have successfully completed the initial phase of the program, which focuses on communal living and are ready to move towards independent living in their own or shared apartment, to search for a home with the necessary support and guidance.
In this regard, individuals searching for a home in the open rental housing market will be provided with tools and advantages such as insurance, guarantees, and price limits offered by the municipal Avilés Alquila program. This enables them to look for housing options that match their income and circumstances.
Additionally, participants in the Prometeo program will receive support and follow-up from a social educator for basic independent living tasks by the regional administration, as reported by the Avilés City Council.
This is one of the agreements reached during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the San Martín Foundation/Municipal Housing Office, held this Friday at the Avilés City Council under the presidency of Mayor Mariví Monteserín.
