La región de Avilés celebra las tocitas de invierno

On January 30, 2025, fifteen hotel units are participating in gastronomic days that offer dishes and menus at affordable prices.

The region of Avilés will debut in February with gastronomic days titled «Tribute to Stews Winter», a new event aimed at offering food and menus at affordable prices.

During these days, promoted by Comarca Avilés Comarca, the Avilés Municipal Council, and the Avilés-Layc Hospitality Region and coordinated by the Gastronomic Gastronomic Company, will take place in fifteen hotel units in Aviles, Castrillón, and Corpera, starting on February 1st.

The participating establishments will offer traditional specialties such as fabada, Asturian pot, fish, or tripe, but also less common dishes such as green or squid ink, bream or hands and shrimp, pot, pot, pot of pots, octopus and Scoul pot, cleaning or Zurrucutuna code. All these dishes are available in portions, with prices ranging from 15 to 25 euros or as part of succulent menus, priced between 24 and 30 euros.

On one hand, I support the hospitality of the region and promote influx in an era with less consumption, and on the other hand, these days celebrate the usual, those who have been working for years.

Additionally, during the two weekends that include this event, there will be a presentation list, featuring the winners of the three most important spoonfuls in the region: «The best fabada in the world» (Saturday 1st, at Canteen Avilés in Villaalegre), «Exploration of the perfect power» (Sunday 2nd, at Sidrería Román in Gijón), and the National Calusuri Competition «The quiet response» (Saturday 8th, at Gitano in Gijón. The event will be complemented by a gala on January 18th at the Niemeyer International Center, where the first «Winter Stews Comarca Avilés» award will be presented to reward the activity of the people and units that have defended traditional cuisine during years of spoon cooking. A local, regional, and national award will be presented. The winners will also participate in a roundtable discussion before the award ceremony, where the product and cuisine will be defended against a small fire.
