The exhibition «Asturian Artists in the Pérez Simón Collection» will open its doors this Thursday, April 10th.

The Exhibition Hall of the Casa de Cultura will host the exhibition titled «Asturian Artists in the Pérez Simón Collection» from this Thursday, April 10th, until September 28th. This exhibition reaffirms the commitment of the Asturian-Mexican patron and collector Juan Antonio Pérez Simón with Avilés.
Following the exhibitions of Úrculo at the Niemeyer and Sorolla at the Casa de Cultura in 2023, and «Women Artists in the Pérez Simón Collection» last year, Avilés will once again enjoy the artistic treasure safeguarded by Juan Antonio Pérez Simón. This new exhibition consists of 20 pieces, 14 canvases, and 6 sculptures.
Curated by the Art History doctor Alicia Vallina, it is a careful selection of works by the most representative Asturian artists from the 19th century to the present day, found in his collection.
Visitors will be able to admire works by Darío de Regoyos, Juan Martínez Abades, Agustín Otermín y García Bustamante, Evaristo Valle, Nicanor Piñole, Mariano Moré, Paulino Vicente Rodríguez, Aurelio Suárez, Orlando Pelayo, Antonio Suárez, Armando Suárez, Hugo Fontela, Sebastián Miranda, José María Navascués, Fernando Suárez, and also representation of Avilés, with Amado González Hevia ‘Favila’, (born in Grado as Hugo Fontela).
The exhibition will be inaugurated at 12:00 on this Thursday, April 10th, with the presence of the Councilor of Culture, Yolanda Alonso, and the exhibition’s curator, Alicia Vallina.
«Asturian Artists in the Pérez Simón Collection» can be visited from Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00; and on Sundays and holidays, from 11:00 to 14:00.
During the summer period, from June 15th to September 15th, the opening hours will be as follows: Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00, and Saturdays from 11:00 to 14:00. It will remain closed to the public on Sundays and holidays.
