The Telpark application is now more commonly used than parking meters in the regulated parking area. According to the 2024 report from Dornier, the company managing the ORA zone in Avilés, the Telpark app has surpassed traditional parking meters in usage. Specifically, last year, the app was chosen as the payment method by 51.58% of drivers, compared to 48.37% who opted for parking meters.
This marks the first time that the Telpark app has outperformed parking meters in annual usage. This trend indicates that the tool has been growing steadily over time and is likely to become the primary payment method for regulated parking in the future. The app offers users significant advantages in payment management, eliminating the need for cash and the requirement to physically visit a parking meter. Additionally, it provides alerts and alarms to prevent fines for exceeding the parking time limit, a feature not available with traditional methods.
In terms of usage and revenue, the figures for 2024 remain similar to those of 2023. In 2024, a total of 2,291,524 operations were recorded in the regulated parking area in Avilés, slightly lower than the 2,313,737 in 2023. Of these operations, 1,108,488 were conducted through parking meters, while 1,182,031 were processed via Telpark. The month with the highest number of operations was October, with 210,249 (97,438 through parking meters and 112,811 through the app).
The total revenue in 2024 amounted to €1,943,465, slightly higher than the previous year’s revenue of €1,928,957. October was the month with the highest revenue, reaching €174,178 (€82,275 from parking meters and €91,903 from Telpark).
