
As part of the candidacy process for Oviedo as European Capital of Culture 2031, the team responsible for the Capital has organized the following informative event Tools of the European Commission for Culture: European Capitals of Culture and Creative Europe, which will take place on Wednesday, June 18, from 17:00 to 20:00, at the Creative Space Talud de la Ería (Virgilio Palacio Street, 1 – Oviedo).
The event will address the main opportunities that the European Union offers to the cultural sector, and will feature the participation of experts of recognized prestige with direct experience in European cultural projects and in the development of artistic programs for cities that presented previous candidacies and their legacy.

Manuel García Álvarez, representative of the Creative Europe Office of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, specialized in European financing and cultural policies.
The event is aimed at professionals and cultural agents from the Principality of Asturias, with the aim of bringing them the tools that the European Union makes available to the sector to support creation, through the Creative Europe program and the European Capitals of Culture initiative.
With this event and the call for cultural projects already underway, Oviedo reaffirms its commitment to an open, participatory candidacy connected with Europe, which bets on local talent and networking to build a transformative cultural project.
