The Enfoca Talento project, an initiative of the Avilés City Council aimed at improving the proactivity, empowerment, and employability of women, celebrated the closure of its ninth edition this Friday. The edition concluded with 85% of participants already employed, with 13 out of 15 participants finding employment. Throughout the previous eight editions, more than 120 women have participated.
The closing ceremony of this ninth edition, held at the Fran Gayo Cinema Room of the Niemeyer Center, featured speeches from Avilés Mayor Mariví Monteserín and Councilor for Training and Employment Juan Carlos Guerrero.
Eva Pando Iglesias, Director of the Caja Rural de Asturias Foundation; Carmen Goiría Molina, from the HR department of DXC Technology and mentor of the Enfoca Talento Project; and María Andrade Gulías, a technician at Cooperativas Agroalimentarias del Principado de Asturias and participant in the fourth edition of the Enfoca Talento Project, were also present at the event.
During the ceremony, diplomas were awarded to the female participants, and the «Company Committed to Female Talent» seal was given to all companies that collaborated in this edition of the Enfoca Talento program.
The goal of Enfoca Talento is to improve the proactivity, empowerment, and employability of female participants through a set of actions including guidance, training, and mentoring to help them acquire or improve the personal and professional skills necessary for entering or re-entering the job market.
It is a long-term project that allows participants to train and internalize new knowledge and skills through a completely practical and experiential methodology. The project has included the following actions:
– Vocational exploration actions: Individual sessions focused on identifying interests and defining or redefining professional goals.
– Training actions: Group training activities aimed at developing skills and capabilities. In this learning block, training pills called «Speed Learnings» were conducted.
– Networking meeting: Networking breakfast between participants and project mentors.
– Experiences Table «Life Testimonies of Asturian Women References.»
– Trades tasting: Observation stays at companies collaborating in the Project.
– Professional Project: Individual sessions for the development of each participant’s professional project.
– Mentoring actions: Individual actions that took place in the final phase of the project, carried out in collaboration with female entrepreneurs and executives from the Asturian region.
The Training and Employment Section of the Avilés City Council started the Enfoca Talento program in 2016 with the aim of strengthening activities aimed at female graduates and unemployed individuals through a comprehensive plan of various actions to effectively increase their employability. This helps reduce female unemployment rates, offering in many cases the reintegration into the job market of female graduates and long-term unemployed individuals.
