The myth of Electra, as told by Sophocles, the cornerstone of Greek tragedy and, therefore, of Western culture, will come to life on the stage of the Teatro Valdés Palace in Fernanda Orazi’s multi-award-winning version. Last chance tomorrow, Saturday, February 15, as part of the Plateau program at Estheavilés, at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.tetropalaciovaldes.es and www.unntradas.es, at the box office of the cultural center, and two hours before the show at the theater. Prices are the usual, ranging from €12 to €22.

Electra, the daughter of Agamemnon, seeks revenge for her murdered father in a production by the Argentine actress, teacher, and director, Fernanda Orazi, which has garnered total audience engagement and critical acclaim, including awards like the Max Award for Best Direction in 2023.

Fernanda Orazi leads a cast that includes Carmen Angulo, Javier Ballesteros, Leticia etala, and Juan Pas, in a production that marks a significant contribution to Universal Theater, starting with the translation by José Velasco and García.

Describing the play, the creators say, «Electra is the journey of a sustained flame that challenges its own and the audience’s inertia in tackling a Greek tragedy.»

Returning to Avilés, the director says, «We had to propose the scene to let it speak to us, listen to it, do something, and act among ourselves. This relationship has provided a different creative experience unlike any other.»

«Electra» is a production by Píes de teatro, with lighting by David Picazo; original music and sound design by Javier, and photography and video by Luz Soria.
