The international youth mobility office project receives recognition from the Agency for the ‘Erasmus+’ programs.
At the proposal of the General Directorate of Youth of the Principality of Asturias, the ANE (Spanish National Agency) has invited the Avilés City Council to participate in the recognition ceremony being held in Madrid this morning. Specifically, the ‘Europa Aquí’ project, which promotes volunteering with youth exchange for the development of various projects, has been recognized as one of the 17 good practices at the national level.
‘Europa Aquí’ is the International Youth Mobility Office in Avilés, a service aimed at bringing European education and training programs closer to both youth and organizations working with young people.
The event takes place between 10 am and 4 pm at the Office of the European Parliament in Spain as part of the meeting «Future of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps: the role of young people in the construction of European citizenship» «Recognizing good practices.»
This is the first time that the Spanish National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth and Sports Programs and CES (ANE) has organized this type of event. The ANE is represented by INJUVE, the responsible youth organizations of various autonomous communities and cities, and the Youth Council of Spain (CJE).
The event offers two distinct sections, with the first part consisting of successive roundtable discussions addressing the contribution of these programs to European citizenship, outlining their main priorities, and sharing firsthand personal experiences.
The second part aims for each regional youth coordinator to present an award, alongside the CJE and the Ministry, to an organization that has had a significant impact on the implementation of these programs over the years.
In this case, the ‘Europa Aquí’ project, developed by the Youth Service of the Avilés City Council in collaboration with the «En Construcción» association since 2006, has been selected for recognition. To present the Avilés project at the event, Ester Santos, a Youth technician, and Vanesa Moreno Sierra, the president of ‘En Construcción,’ the association contracted by the City Council to implement ‘Europa Aquí,’ will participate.
INJUVE will create a video compilation of various moments from the event.
