The Government Council of the Principality of Asturias has approved the call for aid from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which will amount to 94 million euros this year.
After PP deputy Luis Venta claimed on Sunday that Asturias was «the only» region that had not yet called for CAP aid and stated that the deadline was April 30, spokesperson Guillermo Peláez explained at a press conference that «it is not true» that the deadline ends on that date.
«In any case, it ends on May 15,» he said, ensuring that this is allowed by the regulations and that «several» regions have already taken advantage of this. «It should not surprise us coming from who it comes from,» he said, before «making it clear» that the deadline ends in May.
