El PP insiste en elecciones agrarias el 17 de julio con rigor y garantías.

«El consejero only generates conflict and chaos with his management around agricultural elections. Everything he touches creates a problem that ends up in litigation and, in many cases, for violating fundamental rights. Fifteen days ago, they decided to intervene in the IGP Ternera Asturiana Council against the Regulatory Council, putting a manager in charge and suspending the electoral process, a complete abuse of power that is already in litigation demanding precautionary measures through administrative litigation. And now another process opens around a fictitious census that does not accommodate all those who have to vote, and that, legitimately, have been challenged by agricultural organizations for not respecting access to the ballot box,» explains Venta.

«It cannot be allowed that every decision of the Rural Environment responsible in Asturias ends up in controversy and litigation. This only demonstrates the way of governing, without dialogue, seeking confrontation between the Administration and the governed, in the purest Sanchista style, in the purest autocratic style, another example of the socialist Government of Adrián Barbón following the leader,» criticizes the deputy.

Venta argues that «it is very important that after 23 years, farmers and agriculturalists elect their representatives to the Agricultural Council, but it is no less important that participation in this process is allowed to all those who have the right to do so.» «Today, elections in the Asturian countryside are in litigation, pending appeals from agricultural organizations that, if successful, only leave one option for the councilor: his immediate resignation,» he anticipates.

«The Ministry must solve this problem so that the elections as they were planned – he reiterates – no one should be left without exercising their right to vote, and we cannot be the laughingstock of all Spain, calling for elections that, if appeals succeed in court, will have to be repeated,»

Luis Venta regrets that «after 23 years,» the Government of Adrián Barbón with the councilor in charge of this issue «is tarnishing a process that should be a source of satisfaction for the entire sector.» On the contrary, he emphasizes, «they have turned it into a tainted process, they have managed to create confrontations and have taken every step to the extreme to judicialize them. And all this cannot go unpunished for this bungling Government. It seems that here, in the conflict, is where the councilor feels comfortable because it is he who comes out unscathed after sowing confrontation among others,» accuses Venta.

As indicated, «there are errors detected in the census that received allegations and have not been taken into account.» As a first example, the deputy cites Civil Societies, more than 700 in Asturias: «only their representative is allowed to vote, but the rest of the members cannot vote, generally family members registered with Social Security and engaged in agricultural activities,» mostly, he points out, «spouses of the farm owners.»

As a second example, Venta points out that «according to Social Security data, in April there were 6,077 contributors who, in theory, should be the voters; well, the voters listed in the census are 6,159, far exceeding the number of contributors, and if we add that the members of Civil Societies who contribute as agricultural activity are not in the census, the conclusion is that the mess is monumental.»

The Rural Environment spokesperson for the Popular Party of Asturias censures «a Government that is not reliable, that generates problems, that is irresponsible in its competencies, and that makes decisions without legal rigor: their political incompetence and sectarianism are leaving the rural environment in a management chaos.»
