El Grupo Deportivo Bosco compite en la fase final del Campeonato de España de balonmano Infantil masculino en Avilés.

The final phase of the Spanish Male Youth Handball Championship is being played in Avilés, with the participation of Grupo Deportivo Bosco.

The Spanish Handball Federation has chosen Avilés as the official venue for the final phase of the Spanish Male Youth Handball Championship, which will take place from May 28 to June 1. Grupo Deportivo Bosco is one of the eight finalist teams, giving them the opportunity to become the national champions in their category after overcoming teams from Galicia, Cantabria, and the Basque Country in the previous phase.

The event is organized by Grupo Deportivo Bosco, associated with the Salesian College Santo Ángel de Avilés, with the collaboration of the Avilés City Council. The presentation of the event was held this morning by the Councilor for Education and Sports, Juan Carlos Guerrero; the director of the Salesian College, Ibán Segura; the coordinator of Grupo Deportivo Bosco, José Antonio García; and the president of Grupo Deportivo Bosco, Mario Fernández.

Juan Carlos Guerrero highlighted that this is the first time the city is hosting a national handball championship final, emphasizing the positive impact of sports promotion on tourism and the economy.

The championship will take place at the La Magdalena Sports Complex and will bring together teams like As Casiñas Luceros (A Coruña), BM Granollers, Barça A, Barça B, BM Noain (Navarra), Dominicos Zaragoza, and BM Alcobendas, besides the Avilés team.

A total of 250 athletes from the 8 finalist teams will participate, accompanied by coaches and family members. There will be 4 matches per day with an average daily attendance of 1200 people, with around a thousand coming from outside Avilés.

The championship will start with an initial phase where teams are divided into two groups of four. In this phase, teams will compete in a round-robin format within their group. Grupo Deportivo Bosco will face Barça A, As Casiñas Luceros, and Noain in their group, with their first match scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 at 8:15 pm against Barça A.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The winners will compete in the grand final on Sunday, June 1 at 12:30 pm, while the losers of the semifinals will play for third and fourth place on the same day at 10:30 am.

Grupo Deportivo Bosco is reaching this milestone in the context of its 30th anniversary. The Avilés community and handball enthusiasts are invited to the La Magdalena Sports Complex to witness a top-level sporting event that will showcase the future stars of handball.
