El Ayuntamiento de Oviedo presenta su campaña de promoción «Oviedo, ciudad de las oportunidades»

The City Council of Oviedo presented today in Madrid its new promotional campaign under the slogan “Oviedo, city of opportunities,” an initiative through which the capital of the Principality seeks to position itself as a privileged destination for talent, investment, and entrepreneurship.

 

The event took place this morning in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid and was attended by the Mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, and the Councilor for Economy of the City Council of Oviedo, Leticia Gonzalez. Also present were the Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Madrid, Borja Carabante; the Councilor of the Salamanca district, Cayetana Hernández de la Riva; the manager of the Municipal Transport Company, Alfonso Sánchez; the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Alejandro Halfter; the CEO of Endesa, José Bogas; the president of Integralia DKV, Javier Vega de Seoane; the CEO of Ontier, Bernardo Gutiérrez de la Roza; the general director of General Dynamics, Juan Escriña; businessman Pedro Sainz de Baranda; former minister Jose María Michavila; the Asturian members of the CGPJ, Alejandro Abascal and Bernardo Fernández; the vice president of the Jovellanos Forum Foundation, Avelino Acero; Father Ángel from Messengers of Peace; the Ambassador of Austria, Enno Drofenik; a representative from the Mexican embassy, and the mathematician Juan Luis Vázquez.

 

The main support of the campaign is the buses of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) of Madrid, which travel around the capital with a clear message: Oviedo is the ideal place to visit, shop, and enjoy, as well as to live, work, start a business, and invest. With this presence in Madrid, the campaign aims to attract the attention of professionals, companies, and investors in one of the country’s largest economic hubs.

 

The initiative, driven by the Area of Economy, Digital Transformation, and Social Policies of the City Council of Oviedo, is born with an ambitious objective: to showcase the competitive advantages that Oviedo offers as an economic, technological, and quality of life ecosystem. As stated in the campaign dossier, Oviedo combines a high quality of life, modern infrastructure, connectivity, security, talent trained in its universities, and a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability.

 

“Oviedo is not only a beautiful and welcoming city, it is also a city prepared for the future, offering real opportunities for those who want to develop their life project or their business,” stated the Mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, during the presentation in Madrid.

 

The campaign also highlights the boost that Oviedo is giving to its entrepreneurial ecosystem, with spaces like the Talud de la Ería and the Vivarium, entrepreneurship support programs, public-private collaboration, and a clear vocation to attract innovative projects, especially in sectors such as technology, tourism, health, or green economy.

 

The action in Madrid is just the first step of a broader city positioning strategy, which includes future actions in digital media and other communication channels at the national level.
