CaleyAvilés is becoming a key proposal to rediscover Avilés in the Asturian language. The guided tour cycle led by the Estaya de la Llingua will explore various corners of the city between the months of June and August.
Each visit will have a maximum of 25 spots, and participation is free. To sign up, you can do so by email at estayallingua@aviles.es, by calling 985 545 508, or via WhatsApp at 634 821 613.
All tours will start at 7:00 p.m. and will be led by Denis Soria, the official guide of the Principality of Asturias. The first visit will be this Friday, June 27, at the Ferrera Park. During the tour, there will be a discussion on emblematic tree species for Asturian culture, such as yews, oaks, and beeches. The meeting point is the La Noria building.
On Friday, July 25, the tour will be at the La Carriona cemetery, a space full of history and symbolism. The tour will depart from the main entrance of the cemetery.
Finally, the last visit will be on Friday, August 29, with a walk through the historic center of Avilés. If available, it will include a visit to the Las Alas chapel. The group will meet at Plaza España, in front of the Casa Conceyu.
Children participating in the tours must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
