On April 29, 2025, the municipal section of Training and Employment, in collaboration with the company IQUORD, launched a new training program on metal structure assembly for twelve unemployed individuals. This program aims to enhance the professional skills of the participants and includes a commitment to hire 40% of the students who successfully complete the training.
The course, titled «Metal Structure Assembly of Modular Structures,» is customized to meet the specific needs of the metal sector companies in the region. These companies often struggle to find qualified unemployed individuals to join their workforce, making this training initiative crucial for bridging the skills gap.
IQUORD, a leading company in the market for eHouse solutions, specializes in providing fast and reliable power and control solutions for electrical equipment. Their innovative technology plays a key role in the ongoing energy transformation, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Through strategic collaborations with businesses, the Training and Employment Section aims to boost competitiveness and foster public-private synergies in the region.
This training program is part of an agreement signed between the Avilés City Council and Femetal in 2021. The agreement focuses on designing training initiatives in the metal sector to address skill shortages and support the growth of metal companies in the region.
The Training and Employment Section supports the socio-labor integration of unemployed individuals through various activities, including specialized training, job search assistance, and labor market mediation through employment agencies.
The «Metal Structure Assembly of Modular Structures» training program comprises 316 hours of training spread across six modules:
– Module 1: Presentation and Work Procedures at IQUORD (10 hours at the Centro de Empleo Europa)
– Module 2: Communication, Teamwork, and Work Responsibility (5 hours at the Centro de Empleo Europa)
