Concierto inaugural en la nueva sede del Conservatorio Municipal Profesional Julián Orbón

On April 29, 2025, the new headquarters of the Julián Orbón Professional Municipal Conservatory will host an inaugural concert that will resonate from its balconies towards Alfonso VI square, offering music to the heart of the city. The event will take place tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.

The concert will be attended by the Mayor of Avilés, Mariví Monteserín, accompanied by the Councilor of Culture, Yolanda Alonso, and José María Martínez Sánchez, predecessor of Carlos Galán in the direction of the Conservatory.

The performance will feature instrumental groups formed by students, along with the Choirs of the Elementary and Professional Teaching led by Isabel Baigorri, and the Julián Orbón band directed by Marcos Malnero, who will close the day with a musical flourish.

From the balconies, the saxophone and trombone students will fill the air with their notes, while the Elementary Teaching Choir, accompanied on the piano by Alma González Monzón, will perform an emotional repertoire including "Singing all together," "Sleep, little sea," and "Captain, my captain."

The Professional Teaching Choir will offer a meticulous interpretation of "Remember Me" from the movie Coco, accompanied on the piano by Boris Cora Gutiérrez; "I wouldn’t hesitate," with Álvaro Carvajal Arango on the piano; and "Dubula" with Camilo Butiler Leyva on percussion.

The band will culminate with a brilliant musical finale, performing "The Lord of the Rings" and the popular pasodoble "Sighs of Spain."
