On the 5th of July 2025, the Club is now up to date with payments to the public administration. Once the Real Avilés Industrial C.F. presented the documentation proving that the Club is debt-free with all public administrations, the Avilés City Council and the Club are moving forward with important projects for the city.
The government team and Club officials have been in constant contact, especially in recent months during the promotion phase, to address issues such as the temporary concession of the stadium while the necessary administrative process for the renovation of this sports facility is underway.
«We knew this moment would come, that the Club would present the certificate of being up to date with payments to all public administrations, which was the requirement the City Council needed to move forward and address all pending issues. The relationship with the Club is good, and the communication is ongoing because we have significant challenges ahead,» said the Councilor for Urban and Economic Development, Manuel Campa.
«We are extremely proud to finally say that, after more than 25 years, Real Avilés Industrial C.F. is debt-free with the public administration,» celebrated the president of Real Avilés, Diego Baeza.
The next step will be to establish a temporary concession to ensure the necessary legal security while progressing with the renovation process of the Suárez Puerta stadium. The administrative procedure for this new investment involves a minimum period of 18 months, so the provisional concession should be set for a period between 2 and 4 years.
«In the coming months, we need to start the administrative process for the stadium renovation: creating a viability plan, drafting the preliminary project, technical specifications, opening the tender, and the award process. It is a complex administrative procedure that requires significant work to carry out this investment. In addition, we plan to establish a sponsorship agreement with the team. Now that there are no debts, we can proceed with this step. The promotion of Avilés through Real Avilés’ promotion and the cities where it will play this season will allow us to have an agreement with the Club for tourism promotion of Avilés, and in the coming days, we will see the budgetary provision to address this sponsorship,» stated Campa.
A meeting with the municipal groups has been scheduled for the next Monday to analyze the steps to be taken, as promised once this requirement has been met. This project, the joy shared with the promotion, and the connection between the Club, the City Council, and the city must be reflected in these initiatives that will be implemented.
«We are embarking on a new path with the city and the City Council that will serve to continue growing not only in sports but also institutionally,» affirmed Baeza.
