The President of the Principality of Asturias, Adrián Barbón, announced this Friday that he will resume his duties as president this Saturday after a week-long medical leave.
In a message on his ‘X’ social media account collected by Europa Press, he explained that he is «better, although not fully recovered» from the bacterial infection he is suffering from. «They will continue to perform tests to determine the cause of some health problems related to this bacterial infection that I have been dealing with for some time,» he explained.
The leader of the Asturian Executive will resume his commitments by attending the interview that will be conducted in the context of the Semana Negra in the Carpa de la Palabra.
In his message, he thanked for the «messages of affection» he has received in recent days. «The strength that you have conveyed to me has helped me a lot,» he stated.
In the institutional sphere, he thanked the Vice President and Acting President Gimena Llamedo for her work, as well as the rest of the Government Council: «They have done an exceptional job in my absence from my responsibilities.»
After resuming his activities tomorrow, the president has announced that he will take a break on July 20 for vacation until early August.
