«Saudade» reconstructs the lives of both, with dramaturgy signed and directed by Ici Díaz. The play delves into the universe of the poet, playwright, and translator Fernando Pessoa through the eyes of Ofelia Queiroz, his only love. It recounts their incomprehensible love and immerses the audience, through their memories, in the trajectory, work, and most hidden secrets of the Portuguese author.
Ici Díaz is also part of the main cast, alongside Francisco Pardo, Xana del Mar, César L. Alonso, and Isabel Marcos.
As for the technical team, Azucena Rico is in charge of the costumes; Mario Viñuela, of the sound space; the creation of projections is by Cristina Busto, and the lighting design is by Pelayo Rodríguez. Also participating, in their end-of-studies internships, is Lola Núñez, in production and stage management tasks.
La Westia
«Ada Byron: The Number Weaver,» by César Alonso, which was also seen at Teatro Palacio Valdés, was the latest creation of La Westia, premiered in 2023, with numerous distinctions and awards such as the Jovellanos Award for Stage Production and six awards at the Oh! Awards of Asturian theater.
In their trajectory, projects such as «The Law of the Jungle,» a theatrical comedy by Elvira Lindo, and the first theatrical version of «Champions,» done in collaboration with the Father Ossó and Father Vinjoy Foundations, are among their productions, as well as «Open Your Eyes,» by Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla, and the comedic production «May the Child Turn Out Well,» written by César Alonso.
